Brownies and Flowers

Feliz dia de amistad y amor! Our weekend was fun and eventful! I got home from work on Friday to find these beautiful flowers on the kitchen table along with some chocolates and a blow dryer (...I had a mishap with mine, let's just say that it was his time to go). They're beautiful and really brighten up our house after coming in doors from viewing the Logan weather...

Friday night we went out to eat at Maddox in Brigham City with some friends and ate way too much! On Saturday we both worked all day to make up for the moneys we spent on our date the night before. :). We then were able to have a quiet night in, I bought Couper the 2nd season of The Big Bang Theory for Valentines....we're hooked.

On Sunday friends and family came over for a chicken alfredo dinner from scratch compliments of the Sorenson duo, we really can make a pretty good meal when we have the time and ambition! Of course we had to have some bubbly! Sparkling white grape, delicious! We were lucky to have Meghann, Aaron and Porter come visit us for the long weekend! We swam at the hotel, which seems to be Porter's new favorite thing to do and just enjoyed each others company watching the Olympics and hanging out. Porter is a doll and we love every second we get to spend with him!

Porter Loves Uncle Couper!! All for you Keesa! I decided to try a new treat for Valentines. "Layers of Love" seemed fitting. Nothing quite beats brownies made from scratch, especially when they have caramel in them! I didn't have the other ingredients, but can't wait to try the recipe with them as well. (ps just click on it, it will get bigger :) )

Top 5 Reasons to Cut Your Finger Nails

How long is too long? I hate when my nails get too long but often I'm too busy to, or just put off trimming them...(how lame is that?) My nails just grow at an abnormal speed and its hard to keep up with ;). Because of recent events I've been inspired to post the top 5 reasons I'm going to be more diligent in keeping my fingernails neat and trim.

5. My fingernails get caught in between the keys while typing!! not very efficient and super annoying as a college student who spends way too much time on computers.

4. Everytime I get home from working at DownEast my fingernails appear to be a navy hue due to excessive folding of denim...ew

3. I can successfully itch (not pick) my nose without my finger even entering the nostril..something is wrong with that.

2. While being a cute husband, holding and playing with my hand, my fingernails all of sudden turn into his personal nail cleaning tool..not so cute anymore. :)(lol...love you husband)

1. The number one reason I knew that my finger nails were long over due for a trimming was this past sunday. I was holding a cute, rambunctious 3 year old on my lap during sharing time. Like many young children he was playing with my hands, helping me lead music, and intrigued by my long fingernails. After pushing the long nails into his fingers and hands multiple times and feeling their smoothness to determine if they were real, he then grabbed one of my fingers full grip with both hands and shoves the nail into his mouth, attempting to bite it off for me. He didn't stop at one attempt.

Lesson learned. Three year olds are so thoughtful. If I don't want my sunbeams to feel like I'm deprived and they need to help me with a simple task such as trimming my nails via their mouth, I better keep some consistency and take care of the task in the comfort of my own home. :)

An Aussie Snippet

Happy Campers! This is on Noah's Beach in Cape Tribulation. It was so completely perfect. It was beautiful in every way and we had this stretch of beach completely to ourselves! Of course, no swimming was aloud due to the stingers, but it was most enjoyable none-the-less.

I'm not kidding when I say we had this beach to ourselves for 4 days. It was completely and utterly desolate! It was so clean and really just breath taking. The rainforest grew clear up until the beach started so there was beauty every way you looked. I was able to spend a couple of hours sitting on the beach completely solo while the others had an afternoon snooze in the stifling tents. My nap didn't last long due to the heat so I took a beach towel, my journal and a book and made myself comfortable on a beach to call my own. It was such a peaceful experience just sitting out there by my lonesome, cooling down with the gentle ocean breeze and just soaking it up like a sponge. How lucky we are to have such a beautiful world to live in! I'm so grateful for those eye opening moments that remind me that I'm so small compared to this magnificent world and universe, yet I'm important, and Heavenly Father and Jesus know me by name. It's enough to give you the chills when sitting on a beach in 85+ degree weather with humidity weighing down on you. :)

A beautiful view of Mossman Gorge, a national Park not far from Port Douglas. The rainforest truly is a mystery and just incredible to experience! Well, there you have it, a snippet of Queensland :).
