We're in shock a bit that we have an 18 month-old. Emelia is our everything right now.
These pics were taken near her 1/2 birthday--June 25, however this pretty much sums up Em 17-19 months.

*Em loves it when mom AND dad are home and giving her all attention. It's so cute when we're in the car and she'll call out "Ma? Da?" making sure we're both there.
*She is always getting compliments on her beautiful blue eyes.
*She continues to be a good example when getting ready for prayer. And every time she sees a picture of Christ she will point and try saying and signing "Jesus!"
*She has a silly sense of humor that sometimes catches us by surprise. We love getting into giggle fits with this girl.
*She is getting more creative everyday. It is fun to play and watch her imagination unfold.
*She continually practices sharing with her many little friends...good thing they are all working on it.
*Emelia is a really good helper. She immediately runs her clothes to the hamper when getting ready for the bath (often without being asked), she can spot the tiniest piece of trash anywhere we are and will have to find a bin to put it in before we can carry on with our activity, etc.

*When she's thinking about something she'll often put her pointer finger to her chin and say, "Hmmm?"
*At 17 months she started saying, "Me!" when she saw herself in a picture or the mirror. Now she often refers to herself as "Em." Adorable.
*Em is a tender heart. She is very aware of others feelings and will be sure to sign and point out anyone who is sad or crying.

*She is beginning to try singing songs with me or making up her own little hums. It melts my heart.
*She is still very wary of new faces in her life. She's very cautious and always needs mom in view.
*When she is feeling especially shy or anxious, or just plain doesn't like the task in front of her she will squeeze her eyes closed tight (or cover them) and hope that will make it go away.

*Em has a large sign and verbal vocabulary of different animals, foods, and colors. She attempts a lot of the animal sounds.
*We love when she jabbers nonsense, whispers things that are "serious," and declares things matter-of-factly in her deep, scratchy voice.
*She's a dirt girl. Would much rather stomp in the dirt, clean the sidewalk cracks of dead pine-needles, collect rocks etc, rather than draw with chalk :).
*Emelia is lucky to have a group of grandparents (including greats). She has started telling them apart with things she loves to do with them (using sign). ie "Grammie Sadie (the dog)." "Papa horse cookie." "Papa tomato." etc.
*Em has many aunts and unlces wrapped around her finger. She loves them all so much. (Also some sign associations: "Aunt horse" "Aunt cat")

*Em has 8 teeth, 4 on top, 4 on bottom.
*She is super curious and asks questions in sign all the time, "What?" "Where?"
*Our little smarty pants decided to potty train around 18 months. She continues to amaze us!
*Varying obsessions: Cars (the movie--she picked out Cars shoes by herself), horses!!!, bugs (so cute when signed), eggs (of all kinds--books, toys, boiled..you name it).

*Em continues to LOVE food and will eat most things.
*Em loves playing with dad pretty much more than anything. And she always needs to know his exact whereabouts.*She is getting more creative everyday. It is fun to play and watch her imagination unfold.
